Amy Orr Fiber Artist Philadelphia

Amy Orr is a maker, teacher and risk taker reinventing her art practice with each new work. Orr creates obsessively ornate upcycled structures with provocative commentary from common detritus. The work ranges from museum pieces to street art. Amy Orr has begun marking the landscape with totem installations throughout the US, Mexico and Israel. Amy Orr is an adjunct professor at Moore College of Art and Design and the force behind fiberphiladelphia 2012. She was a tenured professor at Rosemont College, before resigning to pursue independent projects. Orr’s work is exhibited internationally and written about frequently. Exhibitions include those at the Fuller Museum in Brockton MA, Sitges, Spain, SOFA, NY and Chicago, Delaware Center for Contemporary Art, Temple Gallery, Philadelphia, Houston Center for Contemporary Craft, Morris Museum, Texas Quilt Museum and the Philadelphia Art Alliance.
