Plastic marquetry with plastic cards 22” h x 15” w

Amy Orr has been making art with credit cards for several years. She cuts up plastic cards then arranges the fragments into mosaic-like compositions. The work ranges from decorative pattern pieces to multifaceted compositions addressing current events, appropriation, politics, identity and value. Inspired by the, now iconic Obama Hope poster, Orr constructed this credit card mosaic, paying homage to the original images and speaking about the politics of the times.
